Resonate Therapy is a place for all people—all communication styles, all abilities, all ages, and all goals. We also strive to work within our scope of practice and expertise/training, so if we can’t help, we’ll find someone who can! We believe every individual deserves to feel understood, supported, and empowered in how they communicate. Whether you’re exploring speech therapy for the first time or looking for a team that truly listens, we’re glad you’re here and excited to help you get started. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our approach to speech therapy.
What credentials do your speech therapists have?
All of our speech therapists hold Master’s degrees from accredited speech-language pathology programs and maintain national certification and state licensure. This ensures you or your child receives care from highly trained professionals using evidence-based, compassionate approaches.
Do you work with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)?
Yes. We support low-tech and high-tech AAC systems and help clients learn to communicate using the tools that best fit their needs. We collaborate with families to choose and customize AAC devices and provide training so communication feels natural and accessible.
What ages can benefit from speech therapy?
All ages. We work with toddlers just beginning to communicate, school-age children strengthening language and literacy, teens navigating social communication, and adults refining speech, cognition, or voice.
Is there a difference between speech therapy and speech pathology?
These terms refer to the same profession. “Speech therapy” is the everyday term most people use, while “speech-language pathology” is the official clinical name. A speech-language pathologist (SLP) is the licensed expert who provides therapy.
What are the top five skills speech therapists work on?
While each client’s goals are unique, common areas we support include:
Speech sound production (clear articulation)
Language development (understanding and using vocabulary, grammar, and meaning)
Social communication skills (conversation, perspective-taking, nonverbal communication)
Fluency (support for stuttering)
Feeding and oral-motor skills, when appropriate
Every therapy plan is tailored to the individual’s strengths and needs.
Do you work with Gestalt Language Processors?
Yes. We have experience supporting GLP learners and use approaches that honor natural language development, including modeling mitigated gestalts and guiding the transition toward self-generated language.
Do you work with clients with speech delays?
Absolutely. Speech delays are among the most common reasons families seek help. We identify underlying needs, build foundational skills, and create a supportive environment where progress can take shape.
Do you work with neurodivergent clients?
Yes. Resonate Therapy is a neurodiversity-affirming practice. We support autistic clients, ADHDers, Gestalt Language Processors, and others with diverse communication profiles. Our goal is to honor each person’s strengths and help communication feel natural and meaningful.
Can I check in with the therapist on goals?
Yes. Parent and caregiver involvement is encouraged. You’re welcome to check in regularly about progress, goals, and strategies to use at home.
How often does a client need speech therapy?
The average frequency is one session per week, but we adjust based on each client’s needs, goals, availability, and rate of progress.
What other services do you provide?
In addition to speech therapy, we offer music therapy, occupational therapy, and music lessons (both standard and adaptive).
